The girls and I on a cuddly afternoon
Maren’s doctor suggested that we get going with the solids, so last night Maren had her first taste of rice cereal. She was confused by the texture and not immediately won over by the taste, but by the end of the bowl she was happily opening her mouth for more! Because we started solids so late with her, the doctor said we can quickly move through the foods and onto finger foods quickly.
Maren’s first meal!
We ended up not going to Tahoe due to illnesses in the family, so today we went to Dracena park in Piedmont. Quite nice actually! Maren took her first swing ever and Maisy did some really cool climbing all on her own! And yes, I’m sort of a freak and when the kids are little I cover the swings with a blanket so their hands don’t touch germs and I immediately hand sanitize Maisy first thing when we get back to the car.

After the park we all got to go to lunch with Todd on a Monday, which is a very special treat.
Chatting before lunch
More after Maisy’s first day of school on Friday. We are busy preparing her. We are helping her be more independent on the potty, having her self dress, serving her lunch out of her lunch box, going to bed early and waking up early. Fun stuff. The going to bed early I’m quite fond of, it’s the whole getting up early thing I could do without!
Much love, Todd, Becky, Maisy and Maren
