Family time on the couch with Dada
It’s hard to believe that 3 weeks have already gone by since Maren was born. The first 2 weeks were pretty hazy filled with pain meds, a lot of sitting around and trying to sleep whenever I could. Things have since calmed down a little.
Maren, as of last week, is up to 7lbs 7oz and is growing wonderfully. She really likes attention and isn’t too fond of just hanging out. We are hoping she’ll mellow a bit more. She is a fan of rain sounds, so we play that to help her calm down and sleep. She’s not so sure about the paci, but it sometimes works to help her feel more secure. She is still sleeping in our room, sometimes in her Moses basket and sometimes in our bed. Maren is a pretty good sleeper and napper so far- we are really hoping it stays this way. We are well on our way to being a total cloth diaper operation. We need to get a couple more diaper covers to make it really work.

We were thankful that my Mom was with us the first week we were home! Thanks again, Mom!! The second week, Todd and I were alone with the girls, but managed well. Maren still just slept most of the time, but had her moments of crankiness. The third week we were lucky enough to have Todd’s parents visit. It was super nice that they were able to entertain Maisy and take Maren when Todd and I were trying to eat or had just bounced and walked and burped Maren as much as we could and just needed a break! Thanks!!

Life is now returning to some sort of normal (I think). Today was the first day that Todd has gone back into the office, although, he has been working pretty much full time from home. Yesterday I took the girls alone on a walk to the grocery store and that was also successful. So far today, I’ve managed pretty well on my own. Both girls are currently napping and I have some real alone time!
Big sister love
Maisy is still wonderful with Maren. She loves loves loves her. It is very sweet. I feel badly that I can’t take Maisy out and do much and that we are stuck at home so often, but luckily she doesn’t seem to notice nor mind. She’s very into puzzles lately and can put together some pretty complicated jigsaw (30 pieces) puzzles almost on her own. We continue to be amazed by her!
Big sister love again…
Just today I decided to try on my old jeans and they fit! Yeah!! They are a bit tight, but it still feels good to not be wearing stretchy pants or maternity pants. I’m healing well and feeling sooo much better.
Thank you everyone for your well wishes and encouragement!
Much love, Todd, Becky, Maisy and Maren
