We walked another year and boy are we proud. We were in good company with an estimated 15,000- 20,000 walkers in attendance. We are so happy to be a part of such a wonderful cause that will help keep San Francisco AIDS foundation providing HIV prevention programs running and supporting our community! A total of $2,686,582 was raised today. We are thankful to each and every sponsor!! Our family raised over $500. Our hearts are filled with the love.
It was a bit cloudy and breezy in spots and we took a short cut, but it still took most of the day! Maren is very independent and insisted on walking a great deal, which was slow going. We also had to stop frequently for potty breaks (no accidents! yay!).
Maisy was into it it. She was the little lady on the go. When we asked her if she had fun, she said, "Yes, but I wish I could run the whole way at the AIDS Walk." I wonder if we have a future marathon gal on our hands.
Both the girls signed the AIDS rememberance walls along with Todd and Uncle Steven.
We were happy to have Uncle Steven with us on our walk and glad that Teresa could join us later.
Hunger was at the forefront of our minds as we finished the walk, luckily the GAP was awesome and provided us with super yummy sandwiches, just because they were nice! So, we ended our day in GG Park with a concert and a picnic. The kids danced and we enjoyed watching all the happy faces.
Maren was thrilled to be allowed to eat potato chips. Chips, the cookie and all the puppies made her day, I think. There were so many cute puppies at the walk that Maren was going crazy over. We already can't wait until next year, when we'll be able to bring our very own dog to walk along with us!
All in all, it was another great year at the AIDS Walk!!
