Maren has been home with a fever for 3 days now and we had to get a little creative to keep her entertained.  I decided to have her practice learning how to spell her name through painting little dots with Q-tips.

I wrote her name in pencil then drew little circles on the letters.  I instructed her to put a dot of paint in each circle.  She LOVED this activity and was so proud of herself when she could call out each letter in her name.

Yay, I learned how to spell my name!

Hanging her work.

Hanging her work.

She was so proud and wanted to hang it in her room, which we did as soon as it was dry.

When Maisy came home from kindergarten and saw what we had done, she wanted to do it too.  So I had Maisy draw her name in pencil and I drew little circles on it that she then filled in and took many artistic liberties to.

I'm a part-time work from home, full time stay at home mom to two daughters and an Australian Labradoodle puppy. We are enjoying our last year before big girl school, playing with friends, swapping childcare to get the job done and getting crafty when we can fit it in. We live together in a wonderful community that we are truly thankful for and proud to be a part of. It takes a village and this is ours.
