Teach Giving Back Through Thoughtful Donation
/Giving back to the community and demonstrating this in a way the girls can understand has always been important to us.
Todd’s workplace, Heroku, in San Francisco, bought pairs of white children’s shoes to be decorated by the Heroku staff. They donated over 100 pairs of beautifully decorated TOMS to St. Anthony’s of San Francisco. St. Anthony’s is a wonderful organization providing much needed services to those in need in San Francisco (food, health care, job skills/tech lab, addiction programs, etc). They also have a free clothing program to help people who cannot get that great new outfit for a job interview or to help a kid get a new pair of shoes for school. That’s exactly where these TOMS went and now over 100 kiddos in the city are sporting some cool shoes for the new school year! It was an added bonus that Heroku chose TOMS to donate as TOMS has the one for one program. Each pair of shoes bought allows TOMS to provide help to one other person. This project had a double return on the love!

Recognizing the importance of this donation, Todd brought two pairs of TOMS home for the girls to decorate for a child in need. They put great thought into their creations thinking about what a child might like on their shoes. They were very proud of themselves for helping out a kid who may not be lucky enough to get new shoes for school otherwise.
