Happy Father’s Day to all the Papas and Daddies!

Each year on Father's Day I get to think about the dads in my life.  It's been 2 years since my Dad's passing, but I still have dads in this world and I'm ever grateful for them.

My Father-in-law and I are very similar – he gets me. He shares his wisdom and his lessons freely and he is adorable to see with our girls.  He gives me a hard time about everything, and I love it.  He’s genuine and our relationship feels so real – he treats me and loves me as his own. I’m very thankful to and for him in my life as he has a special place in my heart, as does my other dad.

My Stepdad. I didn’t grow up with him as my dad, but I have known him forever, though, as a trusted family friend.  He and my mom married after I was out of college and it’s comforting that he's known me since I was knee high to a grasshopper.  My sister and I grew up with his kids.  The heart on my stepdad is endless.  If you do right by him, you have a loyal supporter in your corner all your life.  He’s given freely to my family and me in several ways over the years. He’s always accepting of my sister and I and our kids as his very own.  Going home to both of my “Dad's'” homes’ truly feels like going home.

So, I dedicate today’s post to my Dads and most of all my husband, who is a wonderful father to our girls.

He has such a wonderful, silly and open view on life, that back before we had kids, I joked with him that he really needed a three year old for a playmate because that’s right up his alley. It’s so true.  The girls adore him. I’m beyond speechless with the pride I feel seeing the girls with their dad.  I am very grateful for my husband and the love and beauty he spreads.  Happy Father’s Day, Love, you’re so punny!

For Todd this year, the girls and I filled a wooden box we got at Michaels with treats we know he loves, made a sign and painted some bird houses and put it all together. We were inspired by this post at Oh Happy Day. We also made this awesome book from eighteen25 for Todd all about how much the girls love him. I can't wait for him to wake up!!

I’m fortunate to have dads in my life who are amazingly loving – thank you!

Now, let’s get out there and enjoy our day!!  This year we are heading out to the SF Marathon for the girls to participate in the Munchkin run- then we will let the city decide where we go as we meander around as tourists.  We did the same adventure last year and had so much fun we are doing it again! How do you celebrate?

I'm a part-time work from home, full time stay at home mom to two daughters and an Australian Labradoodle puppy. We are enjoying our last year before big girl school, playing with friends, swapping childcare to get the job done and getting crafty when we can fit it in. We live together in a wonderful community that we are truly thankful for and proud to be a part of. It takes a village and this is ours.
