tales of parenthood, craft,
and growing up in and around berkeley
I'm a Stay at Home, work from home (very part time) mom to two daughters. I grew up in Southern California and graduated from UC Berkeley with a major in Women's Studies. I never thought I'd ever be a SAHM, but it felt right and I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to do so.
We started this family blog way before we had a family, when I was on assignment in Siena, Italy for my job in clinical research. Shortly after we returned home, we became pregnant and the blogging really started. I've gone through a few different focuses and have been fine tuning what my focus is over the past 5+ years. Now, I feel we are ready to really share with many other families (besides the ones who already know us).
Todd (my hubby) and I brainstormed for a name, and he had registered This Fine Day for another purpose, but he's sweet and let me use it; then, even did all the work for the big transfer (from posterous)! I tried and tried to come up with a follow-up tagline, but it was Maisy who said in an instant that she thought the title of our family story should be, "A Family Storybook Village". It's so true. We live together in a wonderful community in Berkeley, CA that we are truly thankful for and proud to be a part of. It takes a village and this is ours.
I love hearing from readers, so please leave a comment- I promise to reply, even if it's just to say hello or thank you.
